The moment Oliver drops everything to catch the collapsing man is electric you can feel years of suppressed instinct surging back in an instant the bakery's warm safe atmosphere shattering against that raw physical threat is beautifully jarring. Does Oliver's medical training fully override his fear in that moment or is there a part of him that hesitates before touching the stranger?
I'm still in awe of the amount of detail to scenes you do Jack, and the research it requires, be it cooking, art pieces, locales or something else. It's simply incredible!
At the beginning of the chapter nothing actually sad is happening, but I still get those melancholic feelings throughout. Even after the tense encounter with Colby... And just because of the lies of one man, which managed to destroy Oliver twice - once with broken love and once with broken career. And now with Trevor keeping Oliver at arm's length, it seems no matter how warm or beautiful bakery is, it still has the air of sadness all around. Maybe "A wild Pokemon has appeared!" moment was exactly what Oliver needed to break through that funk.

Swear to God, if there were a job where someone just built the world, the setting, the characters, the lore, the plot, everything, and then handed it off to another author to actually write the story, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
